Texas Instrum2026-08-25 04:20:10TI and ADI post strong quarterly results as the analog chip rebound splits into two tracksTexas Instruments and Analog Devices both reported strong quarterly results, but the drivers behind the rebound are not the same. TI posted $5.463 billion in revenue for the second quarter ended June 30, up 23% year over year and 13% from the prior quarter. ADI reported $4.022 billion for its fiscal third quarter ended Aug. 1, up 40% year over year and 11% sequentially, marking the company’s first quarter above $4 billion and a record high. Both companies pointed to stronger demand from industrial markets and data centers. TI, however, described a broader recovery across multiple end markets, with autos turning stronger during the quarter and data center revenue doubling from a year earlier. ADI’s growth was more concentrated in industrial and communications, and management tied a larger share of the momentum to AI-linked exposure, including data centers and automated test equipment. Differences also showed up in margins, inventory strategy, supply conditions and pricing. ADI kept building what it called strategic inventory while channel stock stayed below its six-to-seven-week target range. TI’s inventory remained high but its days of inventory fell for a second straight quarter. On guidance, both companies projected further growth, suggesting the analog recovery is continuing even as each company follows a different path.920
Semiconductor2026-08-21 13:19:09Chip price increases spread as STMicroelectronics, ADI and Maxscend raise supply quotesThe semiconductor sector is entering another round of price increases driven by both supply-demand pressure and rising costs, with analog and RF chips at the center of the latest moves. Chinese media outlets including 21 Finance reported that multiple chip companies in China and overseas sent price adjustment notices to customers after the start of August. Documents circulating in the market show that STMicroelectronics, Analog Devices and Maxscend have all set new supply prices for the second half of the year. STMicroelectronics, a major supplier of power semiconductors and MCUs, plans to implement another price increase on Aug. 23 across several product lines. The company has already raised prices twice earlier in 2026. Analog Devices is set to roll out a broad portfolio-wide adjustment on Sept. 13, its second increase this year after a previous round took effect on Feb. 1. In China, RF front-end supplier Maxscend said its full RF product lineup will see higher supply prices starting Sept. 1, while Nationstech told Jiemian News it will raise prices on some high-performance MCUs by 10% to 20% from Oct. 1. The report said the latest round differs from the first half of the year, when HBM and server DRAM led the market. This time, pricing pressure has shifted toward mature-node chips, with AI demand, tighter foundry and packaging capacity, and higher raw material costs all feeding into the move.1710
